Upward Bound and Pre-College Programs is collaborating with the School of Education, Health, and Human Performance to change the face of teaching. By familiarizing potential education majors and their guidance counselors with the College of Charleston’s academic programs and resources this partnership aims to increase the number of underserved students who see teaching as a viable career option. - Your Summer Begins Here
The College of Charleston’s Summer 2011 Upward Bound and Pre-College programs are about challenge, discovery, opportunity and new friends. Inquisitive and talented middle and high school students from the Lowcountry and the I-95 corridor will come to the College of Charleston to prepare for college success, and to experience life as a student on one of America’s most historic campus.
Pre-College will offer two one-day workshops during the month of June.

Description: While introducing students to the college experience, the program is designed to highlight the positive opportunities available to youth. It deters entry into the juvenile justice system and intervenes to provide positive reinforcement.
