Upward Bound and Pre-College Programs

The Upward Bound Program, sponsored by the College of Charleston since 1975
is a college preparatory program designed to generate in its participants the skills
and motivation necessary for success in education beyond high school.

The Upward Bound Program provides special academic, cultural, and mentoring
opportunities for a limited number of first-generation high school students who
have demonstrated the potential and interest to succeed in post-secondary education.

 Complexions is founded by two former Alvin Ailey members.

Complexions’ groundbreaking mix of methods, styles, and cultures has created an entirely new and exciting vision of human movement. Founded by two former Alvin Ailey members, the company’s foremost innovation is that dance should be about removing boundaries, not reinforcing them. Complexions transcends them all, creating an open, continually evolving form of dance that reflects the movement of our world, and its cultures, as an interrelated whole.
